Children’s book author BreYanna Chism visited a couple of first grade classrooms in the library on Friday, February 25, 2022. Her book focuses on encouraging young boys/children to not hold back their emotions. The book’s title, “Beautiful Baby Boy, it's Okay to Cry,” was purchased for two classrooms by the district. Each student received an autographed copy from the author. BreYanna Chism read her book to the students and discussed the message it conveys to young children. Students then read the book together aloud with the author. The students were very attentive and enjoyed discussing her book with them. Afterward, many students were inspired to want to write their own stories. We look forward to our students being encouraged to be their own authors of their own stories.
